BRANCH LINE TRAIL.

Just east of Ashton, Idaho is a reinvented railroad bed turned nature walking trail,

the Yellowstone Branch Line Trail.

This trail boasts breathtaking views of the Caribou-Targhee National Forest.

We were late summer walkers, so there weren’t quite fall colors, but we experienced the fading summer vibrance.

It was magical!

The tunnel, pictured below, is the same exact tunnel that the passenger trains went through back in the day.

There are several stories of the inside collapsing, including a collapse about two years ago.

The park ranger told me there are no plans to excavate, as it would be costly and they want to prevent any accidents from happening.

We saw fly fisher(wo)man that were majestic as could be.

I was able to chit chat with one of them and he was so kind. So willing to tell me about his craft and answer my question.

If I were a painter, I would paint the scene of these fisher(wo)men, despite my lack of painting skills, I captured a photograph.

Also pictured below 🙂

I bring it up very often, here on the blog and in-person, but there is something so special about nature!

Nature is the place to reconnect and tap into that energy outside of yourself.

And to get your steps in. You best know that I had my fitness watch to track all those steps 😉

I hope you get outside to enjoy this crisp fall air, depending on where you are….I heard that California and Texas have had lingering summer heat.

I miss those warm fall valley days!

my love,

jake
